Strategic video production

Mačiukas Media — a video production team based in Kaunas, working across Lithuania.
We produce corporate films and commercials, cover live events and create vertical content for social media. We begin not with the camera, but with a question: what is this video supposed to do for your business? We work with companies that treat video as a sales tool rather than decoration.
We film as a team, not as one person: picture, sound and lighting are each handled by someone whose only job that day is to get them right. Our work ranges from a clinic opening and a furniture showroom launch to a scripted commercial with actors and a national sports event — different fields, one principle: first establish who it is for and why, only then how.
Part of our time goes into education — we run workshops for business clubs and write about the work we do every day. If you want to see how we think before we even meet, start with our articles: they explain, without diplomacy, why an expensive camera saves nothing, why your best video topics are already sitting in the questions you receive, and what a negative comment actually means.

How we work
Discovery
First we establish what the video has to achieve: bring in new clients, explain a complex product, or remove doubts before the first call. We discuss the audience, the channels and the budget openly. If we can see that video will not solve your problem, we say so.
Script and preparation
We write the script and agree it with you, so that nothing is improvised on the shooting day. We plan locations, timing, the people who will speak, and what needs to be prepared on your side. Where needed, we arrange make-up, sound and lighting — all you have to do is turn up.
Production and post-production
We film as a team, not with one operator: picture, sound and lighting are looked after separately. After the shoot we present a first cut, agree the revisions and deliver the video in every format you need — horizontal, vertical, with subtitles where your channels require them.
Frequently asked questions
Why do people watch badly shot videos, while our polished one goes unnoticed?
Viewers do not choose quality, they choose what interests them. Poor picture is no obstacle if the first seconds hold attention. A beautiful picture saves nothing if there is nothing to say. That is why we start with the content, not with the camera.

Why does our video only work while we are paying to promote it?
If nobody sees the video without an advertising budget, the problem is not the money. Content that people watch by choice solves the viewer’s problem rather than talking about the company.

How do we know what to make videos about?
The best topics are already written in your comments, your emails and the questions clients ask on the phone. They are the questions you answer every day — one person at a time.
Can I speak on camera the way I speak with colleagues?
Better not. What sounds normal to colleagues often sounds like a foreign language to the viewer. Professional jargon is one of the most common reasons a good video goes misunderstood.

Are negative comments under a video a bad sign?
Usually not. They mean the video reached people beyond your usual circle. What should worry you is not a negative comment, but silence.

Why does our video not look like a film?
The most common reasons are frame rate and lighting, not the price of the camera. Cinema is shot at 24 frames per second, and that is what creates the sense of motion we recognise as cinematic. The same scene shot at 60 frames looks like a live broadcast, even at higher resolution.

Do hashtags still help you reach people?
Not the way they did a few years ago. Algorithms now read the content itself — picture, sound and on-screen text — and decide who to show it to on that basis. Hashtags have become a filing tool, not a reach lever.
