Our work in the national press

This page collects eight articles on video marketing written for Lithuania’s national media. To be precise: these are texts we wrote ourselves, not editorial pieces about us — six were published through the BNS and ELTA press release channels, and two in Lrytas’ “Rinkos pulsas” section with the author’s name in the headline.

They are written from the perspective of a video marketing strategist rather than a camera operator: almost all of them examine the same question — why expensive video so often produces no result, and what decides whether it will work.

Why constantly posting video leads to burnout rather than to clients

The most common fear we hear from clients is that if they stop, they will lose everything they have built. That creates a vicious circle: a business produces mediocre content purely to fill the feed, the algorithm does not distribute it, and the results fall. The article explains why a pause is not a punishment, and why those who return with considered content often achieve more than those who posted daily. The same logic is set out at greater length in our article on why quality matters more than quantity in video marketing.

Why millions of views often mean zero revenue

A high view count often reflects not the value of the content but the viewer’s wish for instant, cheap relief. The article explains why a business should not try to match the circus of social media, and what viral content really costs a reputation. For a premium brand, attention attracted through chaos costs more than it brings. What this looks like in practice can be seen in our social media video service, where series are planned before the shoot.

How to tell professional video work from amateur output: a quality audit for directors

Executives audit financial statements and production processes perfectly well, but when a new video arrives they are at a loss. The article sets out where to look without being an editor: the psychology of the frame, sound, light, and the mistakes a viewer’s mind does not forgive. It also explains why saving money by hiring one person for the whole job shows in the final result. The same guide in Lithuanian is on our site — how to check whether your video is really good.

Why videos costing thousands bring no profit: two fundamental business mistakes

The first mistake is trying to solve everything with one video: collect likes, go viral, entertain and sell. The second is cutting costs exactly where the client expects the highest quality. The article explains why, without a strategist, video remains just moving pictures, and why an office administrator editing video on a phone can cost a company its reputation. We examine this subject in more detail in our article on why professional filming needs a team rather than a single videographer.

How to look confident in front of a camera: the strategic preparation steps

The person being filmed is usually anxious not about the camera but about themselves — how they will look, and whether they will look foolish. Everyone experiences this, including us, so the article sets out what can be brought under control before anyone even arrives on set. Clothing here is functional rather than aesthetic: it either brings out the face and the emotion, or becomes noise. More detailed advice with examples is in our article on how to prepare properly for a shoot.

How to create video that does not need to be pushed with paid advertising

Companies invest thousands in production, drone flights and professional lighting, and then pay again so that someone will see the result. Paid promotion does not make a bad video good — it merely shows it to more people who scroll past. The article explains what makes a video people watch to the end and send to each other themselves. The Lithuanian version of this subject is on our site: how to create video that does not need paid promotion.

How many clients do we lose before they even say no?

In business it is very easy to attach a label to someone: this company is too big, this client will probably find it too expensive. Often the other person has decided nothing about us yet, while we have already decided for them. This piece draws on experience of selecting speakers for the “Rytojaus standartas” conference, where more than once we hesitated over approaching too big a name. The same applies to video: we usually begin not with the camera but with the question of what has to change in someone’s mind — which is what video marketing strategy.

Why do we want new clients while staying among the same people?

In business it is easy to surround yourself with people like you: the same events, the same people, the same problems. It feels like seeing the whole market, when in fact you are seeing your own bubble. The wish to step out of it was one of the reasons for organising the “Rytojaus standartas” conference. Events like that bring together people who knew nothing about each other — and how to film them so that more than photographs remain is described in our event filming.

Eugenijus Mačiukas, video marketingo strategas

Eugenijus Mačiukas — video marketing strategist and founder of Mačiukas Media. Since 2019 he has worked with companies for which video has to solve a specific business problem rather than decorate their communication. He also organises the “Rytojaus standartas” business conference in Kaunas. More about the team and the approach is in the about us section.

If you would like to discuss what these ideas mean for your company’s video content — write or call us. More of our writing is in the insights section.
